Customer Communications Manager

What you will be doing?

Develop, execute & measure strategic email marketing campaigns to enhance 1:1 relationships with consumers and customers

  • Manage the end-to-end process of all email marketing communications across the Local of Business (LoB)
  • Liaise with relevant agencies and stakeholders to develop and deploy creative campaigns and programs of work
  • Manage email contact strategy across our B2B audiences
  • Leverage owned digital channels to produce B2B and B2C campaign activities
  • Communicate effectively with marketing teams and management to ensure understanding of processes, campaign status and requirements
  • Stay abreast of and recommend email marketing best practices with a thorough knowledge of current legal implications (Data, Privacy Laws and Spam Act etc)
  • Communicate, educate and provide guidance on the marketing channel in order to assist and inform all stakeholders
  • Facilitate timely and accurate delivery of campaign analysis and reporting to support email marketing campaigns
  • Ensure the organisation has a solid understanding of customers and the market through the use of analytics and modeling in order to identify opportunities

Database Management

  • Reviews, analyses, and evaluates database systems and user needs to provide recommendations and solutions to parallel overall business strategies
  • Manage and define data acquisitions (customer and consumer profiling) within direct marketing campaigns
  • Develop and produce accurate and timely reports, which inform LoB decisions and guide marketing strategy and activities
  • Conduct global changes and/or data imports to maintain integrity of LoB data

Manage Line of Business marketing requirements

  • Contribute to developing the quarterly marketing plans for the LoB
  • Provide marketing support for initiatives as per the quarterly Residential LoB and marketing plans

Budget & Finance

  • Accurately maintain and manage the annual marketing budget
  • Process and file invoices and purchase orders


  • Participate in regular performance and evaluation reviews with self and team
  • Communicate effectively with highly developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present complex reports for management levels.
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders and relevant teams via presentations, engagements and integrity of use of internal and external logos

What are the requirements?

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Business or relevant discipline and/or commercial experience in a similar environment
  • Thorough knowledge of email marketing systems e.g. CRM, campaign management tools (Oracle is preferable), CMS and more
  • A thorough understanding of Database and Customer Relationship Management techniques used to develop the performance of 1:1 marketing communications
  • An ability to recognise, interpret and explain patterns, trends and correlations in and between customer / consumer data sets
  • Strong communications and campaign management skills
  • General problem solving skills and ability to think creatively
  • Problem solving and strong self-initiative
  • Experience in an operational role, preferably within a sales environment
  • Strong analytical capabilities and excellent numeracy skills
  • Expert Excel skills with SQL a plus
  • Ability to correlate results from data analysis to sales processes and suggest improvements where necessary
